Youth Summit | サミットについて

There are a record 1.8 billion young people in the world today and each one of them has the potential and capacity to change the status quo. Youth today truly are the Generation of Change. As the world marks the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it is time for young people around the world to come together, to capture this potential and to make a breakthrough toward a world without nuclear weapons. Towards this end, we organized an “International Youth Summit for Nuclear Abolition” in Hiroshima, held on 30 August 2015.

The International Youth Summit in Hiroshima gave the next generation of leaders the opportunity to experience first-hand about the atrocities that took place 70 years ago and to commit to abolishing these horrific weapons. Additionally the event helped preserve the living memories of hibakusha, and further inspired youth to ensure that the future is free from nuclear weapons.
